Her heart is doing about 180 bps, but Amanda is determined. She leans her head on her hand and looks at her friend, her strange and beautiful friend who's laying there right next to her, a figure of serenity. She could stay like this forever, she thinks, just listening to those slow, steady breaths; looking at that soft smile that says everything is right in the world, and wondering about those lips that she's never touched.

She is so absorbed in this determination that she doesn't notice Jenny looking back at her and grunting politely.

I'm still getting used to writing narration, I think. It would seem foolish to include the exact same events and lines presented in the comic, but the timing gets tricky that way. Well, I'll try it out sometime. To clearify, the narration here takes place in the instant before Jenny's line in panel 1.

In other news, Rammstein fucking rocks. "Amerika" is easily the best new song I've heard this year. Just so you know.
